GET RADIANT YOUTHFUL SKIN WITH A OATMEAL FACE CLEANSER

Oatmeal Another One Of My Favorite Natural Resources

Did you have your oatmeal this morning?  I did. I used oatmeal to wash my face.  Just plain oats not the oatmeal that contains added flavor. Did you know that oats is an incredible gentle cleanser for the skin? It’s very affordable and most of us have it in our kitchens.  It has the ability to relieve itchiness, redness, dryness and minor irritations. It removes dirt & impurities while gently exfoliating the skin without all the harmful chemicals. It also helps the skin to fight against free radicals because it's so abundant in anti-oxidants. If you want soft glowing skin use an oatmeal face wash!

I started using oatmeal to wash my face last year when I started being more health conscience.  I have sensitive skin so I need something that wouldn't be very harsh on my face. I use African Black soap, however, I like to change up my beauty regimen and I wanted to find something inexpensive for sensitive skin.

Plain Oats are all natural, great for my skin type so why not give it a try?  Plus , I'm making the face cleanser myself,  therefore  I know what it contains.  So many facial cleansers contains hidden chemicals that irritate the skin and it’s a shame that big beauty companies do not have to list all the ingredients that are in their products. So the best way to know what you’re getting is to make it yourself!

What Are The Benefits Of Using Oats For The Skin?

Well, the number one reason is- its cheap and you can find it in almost every grocery store. A box of plain oats costs about $ 2 to $ 3 dollars. I love beauty on a budget!

Oatmeal contains saponins, a mild cleansing agent.

Oatmeal naturally absorbs dirt and impurities while providing an gentle exfoliation. Oatmeal does not strip moisture from the skin, in fact it does the opposite, it aids in restoring the natural balance of moisture in the skin.

Oatmeal is great for treating skin conditions because it’s so gentle on the skin. It helps relieve eczema, acne, dryness, and irritation. Oatmeal also helps to remove dead skin cells, which means glowing, softer youthful skin.

You can add different Oils like Olive Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Avocado Oil and Grape seed Oil to add more moisture.

Oatmeal has anti-inflammatory properties and is perfect for most skin types, great for sensitive skin.

Oatmeal helps relieve symptoms of aging skin like fine lines and wrinkles.

It is also known to have skin lightening effects and thus it also helps to improve the skin tone and texture, and smooth out blotchy areas.

 Make Your Own Oatmeal
Face Cleanser or Facial Mask

What you’ll need is Plain Oats doesn’t matter the brand. I add a couple drops of Dr. Bronners Castile Baby Mild Soap and about 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Using Dr. Bronner’s Castile Baby Mild Soap is optional. You can just use the plain oats and olive oil. The olive oil adds more moisture and gives your skin a radiant shine.

Place the oats in a grinder or blender this will make the oats into a fine powder. In a bowl, add the powdered oats, 2 to 3 tablespoons of olive oil and a few drops of Dr. Bronner's Castile Baby Mild Soap. Mix all together. It will look like oatmeal.  Wet your face with water. Take a small piece of the oatmeal , put it in your hands, add a little water and rub into your hands or between your fingertips to make a lather.  Apply the oatmeal to your face.in a circular motion. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

How to grow strong Healthy hair with a Herbal Hair Tea Rinse

This is the Herbal Hair Tea Rinse I Make

Do you want Healthy, Shiny and Bouncy Hair? Try a herbal hair tea rinse.
Let your hair have a nurturing drink of herbal hair tea.  Your hair will soak up the nutrients herbal tea provides.   Nettle leaf will stimulate your scalp while the black tea will promote hair growth and decrease shedding.  You can use the Herbal Hair Tea as a rinse after you shampoo and condition your hair or it can be used as a leave in conditioner.  This herbal infusion will add luster, manageability and softness to your hair.  Great for Natural Hair, locs, twists, braids.

I feel in love with herbal tea hair rinses after I tried it last year. My hair had a lot of shedding and breakage I didn’t know what to do. I tried  the most popular hair care products that were supposed to stop breakage and shedding , none of them worked.  After researching herbal tea hair rinses I saw such rave reviews,  so I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did!
I noticed a difference in my hair after a month. I had less shedding, my hair was softer ,  growing thicker and the breakage I had in the middle of my head was growing back.   I also noticed my hair was bouncy and shiny. I was so happy! Who would have thought  that the tea I have in cupboards would work better than some popular hair care products.  The great thing is I didn’t spend a dime I had all the ingredients in my kitchen.

I’m a tea drinker so I had boxes of tea in my kitchen cupboards.  I didn’t go out and buy any special herbs or tea.  You don’t either unless you want to. I’m on a budget so I had to use what I had. I had Green tea, Chamomile, black tea and nettle leaf my absolute favorite!

Green Tea stimulates hair growth, soothes the scalp, helps prevent dandruff it also strengthens and conditions. Green Tea contains Vitamin C , E and panthenol  which is in all most all hair conditioners

Black Tea reduces shedding, leaves hair shiny and darkens dark hair naturally. It’s also a natural astringent it penetrates the pores of the scalp and dissolves excessive oil buildup

Chamomile is great for light colored hair. It brings out highlights adds luster and conditions

Stinging Nettle leaf tea is my favorite because I drink it daily. Nettle leaf strengthens hair and nails,  give a great shine and strengthens the hair
I used my herbal hair tea after I No Poo my hair ( No Poo is using conditioner to wash your hair instead of shampoo) I washed my hair with conditioner then sprayed my hair with the Herbal hair tea. I know so people pour the rinse over their heads in a sink. I found it much easier to put the tea in a spray bottle and spray my hair.  I usually let it sit on my hair for 10 to15 minutes and for deep condition I leave it in. I purchased spray bottles from the dollar store. I did order the bottle that's In the picture above because I sell the Herbal hair tea rinse.
I also use the Herbal hair tea as a refresher for my natural hair. When my hair starts to feel dry I spray my hair. Water is our hair best friend, our hair loves moisture. The tea can be used to refresh braids, locs, natural hair style, as a conditioner or a leave in conditioner. I did add Olive Oil, Jojoba Oil and Glycerin for added conditioning . This is optional.
Making Herbal hair tea is very easy and affordable. Give it a try and tell me how it's working for you.
Here's a simple recipe for you to try:
You'll need tea bags, water, Olive Oil, pot, spray bottle
Boil 1 1/2 cup of water, add tea bags to the boiled water , let the tea steep for 1 to 2 hours the stronger the tea the better.  Once cooled down pour the tea into a spray bottle, add 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil and shake to blend the Olive Oil and water. The oil might separate from the water so shake before each use.
Shampoo or No Poo your hair. Condition your hair. After hair is conditioned, spray your hair with the herbal hair tea rinse. Comb the herbal hair tea rinse through your hair with a wide tooth comb. Leave on for 10 to 15 minutes using a plastic cap. Rinse out or leave in.
I hope you try it ! Please feel free to leave a comment or a question.
